PMI’s Global Summit Encompasses Both Knowledge and Inspiration

Section image

The Project Management Institute (PMI) annual Global Summit is the largest in-person conference in its industry. In 2024, the Global Summit took place in Los Angeles in mid-September, assembling experts, leaders, and practitioners invested in knowledge-sharing and mutual success. Emerging technologies, hands-on advice, and networking were at the center of the experience.

Participants expressed their excitement at learning more about tools such as generative AI, but their commitment went far beyond the tech. As PMI president and CEO Pierre Le Manh expressed in his greeting to attendees, the heart of the Global Summit is always in the ultimate goals of project management: professional capacity-building, improving the lives of others through service, and lighting the way for future generations.

Speakers encouraged attendees to have the courage to reach further, create more insightfully, and collaborate for the common good, one project and one customer at a time. All this is in keeping with the PMI’s long history. Founded in 1969, it literally grew up with and drew inspiration from NASA’s Apollo moon landings that began the same year. In addition to the Global Summit, PMI offers a deep catalog of online and in-person training in major world cities, as well as conferences in Africa, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.
